ABOUT

Welcome to Williams' Piano Services

My name is Tom Williams and I’m a qualified piano tuner and technician based in Swansea. I cover all of South Wales, so whether you live in St. David’s, Lampeter, Brecon, or Chepstow, please do get in touch.

A variety of services are provided, from routine tuning and piano cleaning, to the finer technical tasks of repair, regulation, and voicing. And I regularly work on everything from pristine concert and studio instruments to hundred-year-old family heirlooms, so whatever condition your piano is in, I’ll be glad to help.

Tom Williams - Tuning an upright piano

I learned my trade at The Piano Technology School in Northampton. Whilst still a student, I began tuning for my tutor’s business (Islington Pianos), for LSM Pianos, and for the first of my own customers. Upon qualifying and returning home to Wales, I immediately started work with Coach House Pianos at their showrooms and workshop: an invaluable experience as I found my feet in the industry.

Before turning fully independent in 2024, I also spent four years as Assistant Piano Technician for the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) in Cardiff, helping to look after their fleet of Steinway & Sons pianos. In conjunction with this role, I also began tuning for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales (BBC NOW), which I continue to do whenever they perform at The Brangwyn Hall in Swansea.

I hope you’ll find all that you need by exploring this website, but if you still have any questions then please don’t hesitate to ask. Where possible, I’m happy to provide free advice via telephone, text message, WhatsApp, or email. Equally, if you’re ready to make an appointment, then you can contact me using the details below, or click the button to Book Online. I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks, Tom Williams
